This cookie roll recipe is perfect for those who want a simple yet impressive dessert. With a mix of cookies, nuts, rahat, and a delicious chocolate glaze, it’s an ideal choice for any occasion. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 500 g plain cookies
- 200 g rahat
- 2 wafers
- 2 cups of sugar
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa
- 450 ml milk (or water, as preferred)
- 1 essence of rum
- 1 handful of roasted nuts
- ½ pack of butter
For the glaze:
- ½ bar of dark chocolate
- 2-3 tablespoons of whipped cream or sweet cream
For decoration:
- golden sprinkles
Preparation method:
1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by crushing the cookies. It’s important to crush them not too finely, leaving some whole pieces for texture in the roll. You can do this with a rolling pin or in a food processor.
2. Preparing the rahat: Cut the rahat into small pieces. A helpful trick is to dip the knife in powdered sugar, which will help prevent sticking and make cutting much easier.
3. Caramelizing the sugar: In a pot, melt the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Once the sugar turns golden, extinguish it with the milk (or water). Continue to stir until all the caramel dissolves in the liquid.
4. Adding the butter and flavors: After the caramel has melted, add the butter, cocoa, and rum essence. Mix well until the butter is completely melted and the mixture is homogeneous.
5. Combining the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the crushed cookies with the roasted nuts (which can also be lightly roasted for a more intense flavor) and the pieces of rahat. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the cookies and mix everything until the ingredients are evenly coated.
6. Forming the roll: Place a wafer on a cutting board or flat surface. Spread half of the cookie mixture evenly onto the wafer. Let the wafer soak a little in the mixture, then carefully roll it up to form a tight roll. Repeat the process with the other half of the mixture.
7. Cooling the rolls: Place the rolls on a plate and let them cool at room temperature for about 2 hours.
8. Preparing the glaze: In a small pot, melt the dark chocolate together with the whipped cream or sweet cream over low heat. Stir constantly to achieve a smooth glaze.
9. Decorating the rolls: Once the rolls have cooled, cover them with the chocolate glaze, allowing it to drip slightly over the edges. Sprinkle golden sprinkles for a festive and attractive look.
10. Serving: Slice the rolls and serve them with a cup of coffee or fragrant tea. This quick dessert will bring a smile to the faces of your loved ones!
Possible variations:
- You can add raisins or other dried fruits to the cookie mixture for extra flavor.
- Replace the nuts with hazelnuts or pistachios for a different touch.
- Experiment with different essence flavors, such as almonds or vanilla, to customize the taste.
This cookie roll is truly a simple and delicious recipe, perfect for any time of the day. Enjoy!
