I invite you to discover a yogurt pie recipe, a simple and delicious dessert that will sweeten any meal. This dish is not only tasty but also very easy to make, making it ideal even for beginners. The flavors of lemon and the slightly fluffy texture make it perfect to be served with loved ones, including children. Let's get started!
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of yogurt (preferably Greek for a creamier texture)
- 8 eggs (fresh, preferably from free-range)
- 250-300 grams of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 package of phyllo dough (you can use store-bought phyllo dough)
- 100 grams of raisins (optional, for added flavor)
- Grated zest of one lemon (for flavor)
- 1-2 drops of lemon essence (optional, but recommended for flavor enhancement)
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by separating the eggs. Place the egg whites in a large bowl and the yolks in another bowl. Make sure the yogurt is at room temperature for better mixing.
2. Mixing the composition: In the bowl with the yolks, add the yogurt, sugar, lemon zest, and lemon essence. Whisk everything together with a whisk or mixer on low speed until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
3. Beating the egg whites: In another bowl, beat the egg whites until they become firm. These will add a fluffy texture to your pie.
4. Incorporating the egg whites: Carefully add the beaten egg whites to the yogurt mixture, folding them in from the bottom up with a spatula to avoid losing air. This step is essential for achieving a light and fluffy pie.
5. Preparing the baking pan: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Choose a deeper baking pan, as the dough will rise. Grease the pan with a little butter or oil to prevent sticking.
6. Assembling the pie: Place 3 sheets of phyllo dough at the bottom of the pan. Add 2-3 ladles of the yogurt filling, making sure to cover the sheets. Continue alternating layers of phyllo dough with filling, finishing with a layer of filling. Ensure that the last layer is the filling.
7. Baking: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake the pie for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is well set. Don't worry if the pie rises; after you take it out of the oven, it will settle.
8. Cooling and serving: Allow the pie to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, dust it with powdered sugar for a delicious look. You can serve this yogurt pie alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream or with a fresh fruit sauce for a pleasant contrast.
Useful tips:
- You can also add other flavors, such as cinnamon or vanilla, to personalize the recipe.
- Instead of raisins, you can use pieces of fresh fruit or even nuts to add texture.
- This pie can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days, being just as tasty the next day.
Enjoy the yogurt pie, a quick and simple dessert that will surely become your favorite!
