Popcorn... to Eat
To begin with, we will focus on preparing delicious meatballs that will bring a touch of joy to your child's plate. The first step is to take care of the vegetables we will boil. Each vegetable should be cooked separately to retain their distinct flavors and tastes. So, we put the broccoli in a pot of boiling water and let it boil for a maximum of 8 minutes until it becomes slightly tender but still crunchy. Meanwhile, the zucchini and eggplant, cut into small cubes, are boiled for about 5 minutes. Once all the vegetables are boiled, we drain them and let them cool.
Once the vegetables have cooled, we will use a blender to turn them into a fine puree. This puree will go into a large bowl, ready to receive the other ingredients. In another bowl, we put the cubed bread and cover it with a little milk, ensuring that the milk is enough to soak the bread, but not so much that we end up with a watery mixture. We mix the bread with the milk until it becomes a smooth paste, which will add a wonderful flavor to the meatballs.
After the bread has soaked, we add it to the vegetable puree. Then, to bind all the ingredients together, we add an egg, salt, pepper, and mix the composition well. Finally, we incorporate the tablespoons of grated Parmesan, which will provide a savory taste and pleasant texture to the meatballs. From this mixture, we form meatballs of the desired size, which we place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
The tray with meatballs is placed in the preheated oven, where we let them bake until they become golden and appetizing. After baking, the meatballs are left to cool in a well-ventilated place, preparing them to be served. When the meatballs are completely cool, we can start preparing a playful plate for the child.
On a flat plate, we place a layer of spinach, which will represent the fresh grass. The stems of the flowers will be made from the spinach stems, and at the end of each stem, we carefully place a meatball, which will serve as the flower. The petals of the flowers will be created from colorful pieces of carrot, yellow bell pepper, and cucumber, thus adding a splash of color and freshness. Finally, we use spinach leaves to complete the floral aspect of the dish. The meatballs can be served immediately, bringing a smile to the little ones' faces. Enjoy your meal!
