To prepare a delicious and savory chicken breast dish, we start by cutting the chicken breast into thick pieces of about 1 cm. These pieces will then be flattened using a meat mallet to achieve a more tender and even texture. After flattening them, we salt and season them to taste, being careful to choose spices that complement the flavor of the chicken, such as pepper, smoked paprika, or herbs.

In a pan, we heat the olive oil and add the julienned red onion. This will bring a pleasant sweetness to the dish. We then add the diced bell peppers and the cubed kaizer, which will contribute an intense flavor. We don’t forget about the two cloves of garlic, thinly sliced, which will add a fragrant note and enhance the taste. We let the ingredients sauté until they soften well, stirring occasionally.

Once we have a delicious mixture, we add the sliced mushrooms and continue to sauté everything until the mushrooms lose some volume and become tender. We season the mixture with salt and spices, then set it aside to cool slightly. At this point, we add a beaten egg and finely chopped fresh herbs, which will bring an extra freshness.

On each piece of flattened chicken breast, we place a slice of dried ham, followed by a portion of the mushroom filling. We gently roll each piece and secure the ends with bamboo toothpicks, ensuring that the filling won’t leak out during baking. We repeat this process until we have made all the rolls, about 5 or 6 pieces.

We place the rolls in a taller baking dish. We drizzle with a bit of olive oil, add a small glass of white wine, which will give a special taste, and complete with a glass of water. We sprinkle peppercorns and bay leaves on top to enrich the aroma. We put the dish in the preheated oven and let it bake for about 40 minutes, basting the rolls occasionally with the juices from the dish to keep them juicy.

When the rolls are nicely browned, we take them out of the oven and remove the toothpicks. They are served warm, alongside a hearty side dish, such as mashed potatoes or a fresh salad. This dish will surely impress anyone, and each bite will be an explosion of delicious flavors. Enjoy your meal!
