The ham is sliced into thin pieces, ensuring they are uniform for proper cooking. This choice will add a pleasant texture and a savory taste to our sandwich. While we are working with the ham, we can prepare the baguette. We take it and cut it into three equal parts, then we open each piece lengthwise, creating an ideal base for the filling. It is important not to cut the baguette completely, but to leave one part connected so that the filling doesn’t fall out.

After opening the baguette, we carefully scoop out a bit of the inner crumb. This step is essential as it will allow us to add more filling and achieve a more balanced sandwich. With a spoon or our fingers, we remove the crumb, leaving the side walls thick enough to support the ingredients. Now that we have the baguette ready, we turn our attention to an essential ingredient: ketchup. We generously spread ketchup inside the baguette, making sure every corner is well covered. The ketchup will add a sweet and sour taste, perfectly complementing the savory flavors of the ham.

After finishing with the ketchup, we add the slices of ham. We try to arrange them evenly so that each bite is full of flavor. We can also add other ingredients to enrich the sandwich, such as slices of melted cheese, fresh tomatoes, or even crunchy lettuce leaves. These will not only provide a contrast of textures but will also add a splash of color and freshness.

Once we have filled the baguette with ham and, optionally, the other ingredients, we can wrap it in aluminum foil and place it in the oven for about 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius. This step will help the cheese melt and combine with the other ingredients, creating a delicious and hearty sandwich.

After the baking time is up, we take the baguette out of the oven, carefully unwrap it, and let it cool slightly. We slice the sandwich into easy-to-eat portions and serve immediately. This dish is perfect for a quick snack, a lunch at the office, or a light dinner, pleasing both children and adults. Enjoy your meal!
