Chip salad
To prepare a delicious and hearty salad, we start by preparing the meat. Choose chicken or pork, according to your preference, and boil it in a large pot of water, adding a teaspoon of salt to enhance the flavor. Boil the meat for about 30 minutes or until it becomes tender. Once cooled, cut the meat into uniform cubes to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
Meanwhile, prepare the other ingredients. Take a few eggs and boil them. After boiling for 10-12 minutes, let them cool, then peel and cut them into cubes. Onion also plays an essential role in this recipe, so chop one medium onion into small cubes. If you prefer a milder flavor, you can sauté it a little in oil before adding it to the salad.
Once you have all the ingredients ready, in a large bowl, combine the meat, eggs, onion, and add a drained can of corn, which brings a sweet taste but also a crunchy texture. To add extra flavor, add a handful of crushed potato chips, which will add a pleasant contrast to the salad.
To bind all the ingredients together, use mayonnaise. You can choose classic mayonnaise or try a lighter version made with yogurt. Gradually add the mayonnaise, mixing carefully until you achieve the desired consistency. If you want to bring a little acidity and freshness, feel free to drizzle the salad with a few drops of lemon juice.
Mix everything with a spatula, being careful not to crush the delicate ingredients like the eggs or chips. Taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking, perhaps with a little freshly ground pepper or even some herbs like parsley or dill.
