To create a delicious and decadent cake, we start by melting 200 g of good quality chocolate together with 100 g of unsalted butter. It is essential to stir constantly to ensure that the chocolate does not burn, and once melted, we let the mixture cool to room temperature. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, we vigorously mix 4 eggs with 200 g of granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. We use an electric mixer to achieve a fluffy texture that will double in volume, a process that can take between 5 and 10 minutes.

After obtaining this airy foam, we slowly add the melted chocolate with the butter, continuing to mix to homogenize the mixture. The next step involves incorporating 120 g of sifted flour, which will give structure to our cake base. If we want an extra texture and flavor, we can also add 80 g of chopped nuts or hazelnuts. The obtained mixture is poured into a 24 cm cake pan, prepared with baking paper, and placed in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. We bake the base for about 25-30 minutes, and to check if it is done, we do the toothpick test. After baking, we let the base cool completely on a rack.

Next, we take care of the caramel. We melt about 100 g of caramels together with 70 ml of liquid cream, stirring constantly to achieve a smooth texture. If we prefer, we can make the caramel at home using just sugar and water for a more intense flavor. Then, we cut two Snickers bars into small pieces, preparing them to be added to the cake.

For the mascarpone cream, we mix 250 g of room temperature mascarpone with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, adjusting the sweetness to taste. Separately, we whip 200 ml of cream until it becomes firm and then gradually incorporate it into the mascarpone, mixing gently. We also add 50 g of chopped chocolate for extra flavor. If we want a firmer cream, we can prepare a packet of gelatin according to the instructions on the package and add it to the cooled cream.

After the base has cooled, we trim the edges and cut it horizontally into two layers. If the base is not even, we can level the top. We place the first layer in a 22 cm cake mold, sprinkle the pieces of Snickers and pour the cooled caramel over it. Then we add a generous layer of cream, followed by the second layer of cake, repeating the process with Snickers and cream. On top, we sprinkle the chopped cake pieces, giving a rustic appearance.

We let the cake chill, preferably overnight, but at least a few hours to allow the flavors to meld. Finally, we decorate the cake with caramel, melted chocolate, and optionally, with pieces of Snickers, letting the chocolate drip down the sides for a spectacular effect. This cake, with rich layers and flavor combinations, will surely be a delight for any occasion!
