Vegetables with breadcrumbs
To prepare a delicious baked vegetable side dish, we will use a variety of fresh vegetables that will add both flavor and color to our dish. We start by choosing the vegetables we prefer or have on hand. For example, carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, onions, and eggplants are excellent choices.
The first step is to wash the vegetables thoroughly under cold running water to remove any impurities. Then, we will peel them if necessary and cut them into thin slices or cubes, depending on preference. Thin slices will cook more evenly and absorb flavors better.
After the vegetables are cut, we place them in a large bowl. Here we will add a splash of olive oil, which will not only help cook the vegetables but also add a delicious flavor. We mix well to ensure all the vegetables are evenly coated with oil. At this point, we can also add our favorite spices: salt, pepper, granulated garlic, oregano, or thyme. These will transform the simple vegetables into a flavorful side dish.
Once we have added the spices, it is time to prepare our special mix. This can consist of a mixture of grated cheese, breadcrumbs, or seeds. We sprinkle this mix over the already oiled vegetables and mix again, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
Now, we preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. We prepare a baking tray, which we can line with parchment paper to prevent the vegetables from sticking. We arrange the vegetables in the tray in a single layer, making sure they have enough space to bake evenly.
We place the tray in the oven and let them bake for about 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are lightly browned and tender. It is important to check occasionally to ensure they do not burn.
When the vegetables are ready, we take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. These baked vegetables are excellent as a side dish with meat or fish, but they can also be enjoyed as a standalone vegetarian dish. Enjoy your meal!
