We dissolve the yeast and butter (as much as possible) in the milk heated to 37 degrees Celsius, being careful not to make it too hot, so as not to destroy the yeast. This step is essential, as the yeast is the key ingredient that will make our dough rise and become fluffy. After obtaining a homogeneous mixture, we turn our attention to the flour. We put the flour in the mixer, making sure to sift it to avoid lumps.

After adding the mixture of milk, yeast, and butter over the flour, we start kneading. It is important to ensure that all ingredients are well incorporated. At this point, we can add the sugar and salt, which will provide a pleasant taste to the final product. We continue to knead the dough for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth. If we feel that the dough is too sticky, we can add a little more flour, but we must be careful not to overdo it, as a dough that is too dry will lead to a dense final product.

After we finish kneading, we shape the dough into a ball, which we place in a bowl greased with a little oil. We cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place, away from drafts, for about an hour or until it doubles in volume. This rising process is crucial, as it allows the yeast to produce gases that will make the dough rise.

Once the dough has risen, we take it out of the bowl and gently knead it again to release the accumulated air. Then, we can shape it into the desired form, whether it be rolls, bread, or other creative shapes. We place the shaped products on a tray lined with baking paper and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

Before putting them in the oven, we can brush them with a beaten egg to achieve a golden and glossy crust. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the products are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped lightly on the bottom. After baking, we let the products cool on a rack, then we can enjoy them warm or keep them for the following days, as they are excellent for sandwiches or as a side dish for our meals. This simple yet flavorful recipe will surely bring joy to every home.

Ingredients: 25 g yeast, 300 ml milk, 25 g butter or margarine at room temperature, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 tablespoon sugar, 250 g durum wheat flour, 180 g white flour and optionally cheese.
