Strawberries with Sugar, Frozen
Wash the strawberries carefully under a stream of cold water, making sure to remove any impurities or pesticide residues. Once cleaned, remove the stems and let the fruits drain in a colander to eliminate excess water. After they have drained, place the strawberries on a napkin or absorbent towel to allow them to dry completely, as excess moisture can affect the freezing process.
Transfer the strawberries to a large bowl and drizzle them with fresh lemon juice, which will not only enhance the flavor of the fruits but also help preserve their vibrant color. Add sugar over the strawberries, making sure to distribute it evenly. Gently mix by shaking so that the sugar dissolves and harmoniously combines with the natural juice of the fruits. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 hours, during which time the strawberries will release their delicious juice, resulting in a flavored syrup.
Next, choose disposable cups based on the portions you want to have. These will serve as holders for bags that will contain the fruit mixture. Place a bag in each cup, ensuring that you cover the entire inner surface, and that the opening of the bag extends about a third above the top of the cup. Fill the bags with the mixture of strawberries, sugar, and syrup, being careful not to leave any empty space to avoid the formation of ice crystals.
Tie the bags tightly, removing as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. Place the cups in the freezer and let them harden well overnight. The next day, carefully remove the bags with the frozen fruits from the cups. Place them in a freezer bag, seal it tightly to prevent air from entering, and label the bag with the date and type of fruit. These frozen fruits can be stored in the freezer for 12 months, allowing you to enjoy the flavor of fresh strawberries throughout the year. When you want to consume them, simply thaw the desired amount at room temperature or in the refrigerator to enjoy their natural and fresh taste.
