To prepare these delicious and aromatic coffee candies, we start by making sure we have all the ingredients at hand. You will need 200 grams of ladyfingers, 250 grams of mascarpone, 100 milliliters of freshly brewed coffee, ideally not too strong, and a few drops of vanilla essence or rum, according to your preference.

In a large bowl, crumble the ladyfingers into small pieces, but do not turn them into powder, as we want a pleasant texture. Add the mascarpone over the ladyfingers and carefully pour in the warm coffee. Here you can also add the vanilla or rum essence to enhance the flavor. Use a spatula or a large spoon to mix the ingredients until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Make sure there are no unincorporated pieces of ladyfingers.

Once you have obtained a uniform paste, it is time to get your hands to work. Using your palms, form small balls, about 2-3 centimeters in diameter. These will become little delights, so don’t rush! After you have formed all the balls, prepare a dish with cocoa powder. Roll each ball in cocoa, making sure they are evenly coated on all sides. This will not only add a hint of bitterness, perfect in contrast to the sweetness of the mascarpone, but will also give an elegant appearance.

After you have finished rolling all the balls, place them in paper cups to give them a refined look and make them easier to serve. It is important to let them chill, so put them in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour. This resting time will help the flavors integrate perfectly and will allow the balls to become firmer, making them easier to consume.

Once they have cooled, you can enjoy these delicious treats alongside a cup of coffee or tea. These coffee candies with mascarpone are ideal for serving at a party, a brunch, or simply to indulge after a long day. If you keep them in a closed container, they can stay fresh for a few days, but it’s hard to believe they will last that long, considering how tasty they are!
