To prepare these delicious Nutella-filled buns, start by placing the ingredients in the bread machine in the correct order. The first ingredient is lard, followed by salt, then sifted flour, and finally, the yeast activated with sugar, which has been previously dissolved in warm water. It is important to respect this order to achieve a uniform and airy dough. Set the dough program and let the machine do all the work.

If you don't have a bread machine, don't worry! You can make the dough manually. Start by activating the yeast with the sugar and diluting it with a little warm water. Then, pour this mixture into the center of the sifted flour placed in a large bowl. Add the lard cut into cubes and the salt. Continue to gradually add the rest of the warm water, mixing with a spatula or with your hands. Knead the dough quickly for about 5 minutes, until you achieve a smooth and elastic texture that easily separates from the bowl and your hands.

After this step, shape the dough into a ball, place it in a clean bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place, away from drafts, for about 2 hours or until it doubles in volume. It is essential to be patient at this stage, as good rising will lead to a fluffy and airy texture of the buns.

Once the dough has risen, place it on a lightly floured work surface and cut it into equal portions, about 35 g each. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Use your finger to make a dent in the center of each ball. Let them rise again, this time for 30 minutes, also in a warm place, until they double in volume.

After they have risen, brush each ball with a lightly beaten egg yolk mixed with milk, to give them a beautiful golden color when baked. Sprinkle brown sugar on top to add a touch of sweetness and texture. In each dent, place a teaspoon of Nutella, which will melt during baking, providing a creamy and delicious interior.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and place the tray in the middle of the oven. Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes, until they become golden and delicious. Once baked, remove them to a rack to cool. These Nutella-filled buns are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack, being fluffy and aromatic, perfectly balanced between the crunchy texture on the outside and the creaminess of the chocolate filling. Enjoy them with pleasure!
