- Baking time: 30 minutes
- Total time: 1 hour
- Number of servings: 12
Ingredients:
*For the base:*
- 200 g flour
- 250 ml milk
- 1 pack margarine (approx. 250 g)
- 4 eggs
- 250 g sugar
- 70 g cocoa
- 100 g unsalted raw peanuts
- 150 g milk chocolate
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon rum essence
*For the cream:*
- 1 packet whipped cream pudding mix
- 500 ml milk
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 200 ml liquid cream
- 1 packet gelatin granules
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 4 large Snickers bars (75 g each)
*For the syrup:*
- Chocolate liqueur with peanuts (or non-alcoholic syrup, as preferred)
*For decoration:*
- Whipped cream
- 2 large Snickers bars
Step by Step:
1. Preparing the base:
In a saucepan, add the milk, sugar, margarine, and cocoa. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until all the ingredients are perfectly combined. Don’t forget to enjoy the delicious aroma that will spread in the kitchen!
2. Adding chocolate and flavors:
Once the mixture is smooth, add the chocolate pieces, vanilla sugar, and rum essence. Mix well and remove the saucepan from heat, allowing the mixture to cool completely.
3. Preparing the peanuts:
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Spread the peanuts on a baking tray and bake for 5-7 minutes until they are lightly browned. Let them cool, then grind them in a blender until you get pieces the size of rice grains. These will add a delicious crunchy texture to the cake.
4. Combining the ingredients:
In the milk and cocoa mixture, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then, incorporate the flour mixed with baking powder and the ground peanuts. The mixture will be dense and aromatic.
5. Baking the base:
Pour the mixture into a 24 cm round cake pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the base cool completely on a cooling rack.
6. Preparing the cream:
In a bowl, add the pudding mix and 100 ml of milk. In a saucepan, bring the remaining milk to a boil with the 4 tablespoons of sugar, stirring constantly. When the milk boils, pour it over the pudding mixture and mix well. Put the mixture on the heat and let it thicken, then add the vanilla sugar.
7. Incorporating the gelatin:
Hydrate the gelatin in 3 tablespoons of cold water, then add it to the warm pudding. Let the mixture cool completely. Meanwhile, whip the cream until firm and mix it with the cooled pudding, creating a light and delicious cream.
8. Adding the Snickers:
Cut the Snickers bars into small pieces (to keep them whole, you can refrigerate them for 10 minutes before cutting) and add them to the whipped cream. Gently mix to avoid breaking the pieces.
9. Assembling the cake:
Cut the base into two layers (or, if you used a smaller amount of mixture, you can make cupcakes). Soak each layer with the chocolate liqueur. If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, you can make a syrup from water and sugar with a bit of cocoa.
10. Mounting the cake:
Place the first layer of cake on a platter, add half of the Snickers cream, then cover with the second layer of cake. Soak this layer with the liqueur as well. Add the remaining cream and refrigerate the cake for a few hours to set.
11. Decorating the cake:
Be creative! You can decorate the cake with whipped cream, slices of Snickers, or even grated chocolate. I opted for a simple decoration, but you can play with shapes and styles!
Tips and Useful Advice:
- Variations: You can try adding ingredients like caramel or pecans for an even richer flavor.
- Suitable drinks: This cake pairs perfectly with a cup of hot coffee or a glass of milk. If you prefer something more sophisticated, a sweet wine or chocolate liqueur can wonderfully complement the flavors.
- Frequently Asked Questions:
- *Can I replace margarine with butter?* Yes, butter can add a richer flavor, but make sure to let it soften before use.
- *What should I do if I don’t have gelatin?* You can use agar-agar powder as a substitute.
Nutritional Benefits:
This cake is full of energy thanks to the peanuts and chocolate, rich in antioxidants, and the cream adds a boost of calcium. However, consumed in moderation, it is an indulgent dessert.
I hope this Snickers cake recipe quickly becomes a favorite in your kitchen! I encourage you to experiment and bring your own ideas. Enjoy!
