Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 10 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Number of servings: 4

We present you a recipe for an appetizer that will delight both your guests and your family: Teufel's Toast, also known as the Devil's Toast. This spicy yet delicious dish is perfect for any occasion, from parties to intimate dinners.

Ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread (preferably whole grain or rye for a more intense flavor)
- 200 g goat cheese or feta
- 100 g sour cream (you can use tangy sour cream for a more pronounced taste)
- 2-3 fresh hot peppers (or spicy paprika, according to preference)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- A small bunch of fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Preparation:
1. Start by preheating the oven to 200°C. This step is essential for achieving a golden, crispy crust on the bread.

2. Cut the slices of bread in half or quarters, depending on the desired size for the toasts. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

3. In a bowl, mix the goat cheese or feta with the sour cream. Use a fork to mash the ingredients together until you obtain a smooth paste. Add salt and pepper to taste.

4. Clean and finely chop the cloves of garlic. If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can add more, adjusting the recipe to your taste.

5. Remove the seeds from the hot peppers (if you want to reduce the heat a bit) and chop them finely. Add them to the cheese and sour cream mixture, along with the chopped garlic. Mix well to integrate the flavors.

6. Brush one side of the slices of bread with olive oil. Then, place a generous portion of the cheese mixture on the unbrushed side of each slice. Make sure to cover them evenly for proper baking.

7. Bake the toasts in the oven for 10 minutes or until they turn golden and the cheese begins to melt. You will notice the spicy aroma of the peppers and garlic spreading throughout the kitchen.

8. After removing them from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Serving suggestion:
Teufel's Toast is best served warm, alongside a glass of white wine or a cold beer. You can also add a yogurt sauce with mint to balance the spiciness.

Possible variations:
If you want to experiment, you can add finely chopped kalamata olives to the cheese mixture or use cheddar cheese for a more intense flavor. You can also replace the hot peppers with sweet peppers if you prefer a less spicy appetizer.

I invite you to try this simple and quick recipe for Teufel's Toast, which will surely become a favorite in your menu. Enjoy every bite and savor the perfect combination of textures and flavors!
