Preparing shrimp is a simple process, but it requires attention to detail to achieve a delicious dish. We start by cleaning the shrimp, carefully removing their shells. It is important to ensure they are well cleaned and that no impurities remain, as this will influence the final taste of the dish. Once cleaned, we rinse them under a stream of cold water and let them drain in a colander.

In a non-stick pan, we put a splash of olive oil, enough to evenly coat the bottom of the pan. The olive oil will not only prevent the shrimp from sticking, but it will also add a pleasant flavor. We heat the pan over medium heat, being careful not to overheat it, as the oil can burn and affect the taste of the dish.

When the oil is hot enough, we add the shrimp to the pan. It is best not to overcrowd the pan, to allow the shrimp to cook evenly. We let the shrimp fry for 2-3 minutes without turning them too often. As they cook, we will observe their transformation: the color will turn pink, and the shrimp will curl slightly, taking the shape of the letter C. This is the sign that they are almost ready!

Once they reach this stage, we turn them with a spatula and let them fry on the other side for another 2-3 minutes. At this point, we can also add our favorite seasonings, such as salt, pepper, crushed garlic, or herbs like parsley or basil, to intensify the flavors. The flavors will begin to meld, and the house will be filled with a delicious aroma.

When the shrimp are fully cooked, we take them out of the pan and let them rest on a platter, covered with aluminum foil to keep them warm. These fried shrimp can be served immediately alongside a fresh salad or with a delicious mayonnaise and lemon-based sauce. They can also be added to pasta or rice, transforming them into an exceptional main dish. Enjoy them with pleasure!
