To prepare a delicious recipe of cabbage with sausages and potatoes, we will use a few simple cooking techniques that will transform ordinary ingredients into a savory dish. We start by preparing our essential ingredients: a medium cabbage, a few tasty sausages, some suitable potatoes, and our favorite spices.

First, we clean and wash the cabbage, cutting it into thin strips suitable for cooking. The potatoes are peeled and cut into thick slices lengthwise to cook evenly. While we take care of the vegetables, we start preparing the sausages. It is important to fry them lightly to enhance their flavor. In a pot, we add the sausages and a little water. We let them boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they turn white and become juicier. This method will help retain the juice inside, giving them a special taste.

After the sausages are ready, we add the chopped cabbage, covering everything with a lid. We let the cabbage steam, adding a little water to prevent sticking. When the water has reduced and the cabbage has started to soften, it is time to add the sliced potatoes. We add them over the cabbage, along with another portion of water or, ideally, vegetable broth for extra flavor. At this stage, don’t forget to add a tablespoon of oil, which will help caramelize the vegetables during cooking.

Meanwhile, we preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Once all the ingredients are in the pot, we carefully transfer them to a glass dish, leveling them out. We place the fried sausages on top of the vegetables to brown nicely in the oven. It is important to leave a small amount of water in the dish, about a finger’s worth, to help cook the ingredients evenly.

Now, we let the dish bake, covered with aluminum foil or a lid, on low-medium heat. After about 30-40 minutes, we carefully open the oven and add the spices – pepper, thyme, and diced tomatoes. These will add a fresh note and a complex flavor to our dish. We continue baking for another 15-20 minutes until everything becomes tender and aromatic.

In the end, the dish is ready to be enjoyed alongside a fresh salad or a slice of bread. This simple yet delicious recipe is perfect for a family dinner or to impress friends. The flavors will blend perfectly, and the textures will provide a memorable culinary experience. Enjoy your meal!
