Preparation time: 40 minutes
Cooling time: 1 hour
Number of servings: 8-10 baskets

Necessary ingredients:

For the baskets:
- 60 g dark chocolate
- 125 g white chocolate

For the cheese balls:
- 500 g cottage cheese
- 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Zest of one lemon
- 2 packets vanilla sugar
- 300 ml milk
- 4 tablespoons semolina
- Cherries (fresh or canned)
- Coconut (for rolling)

For the cookie balls:
- 500 g cookies
- 100 g ground walnuts
- 2 bottles of rum
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 5-6 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 pack margarine (approx. 200 g)
- 100-200 g coconut (for rolling)
- Cherries (for filling)

Note: You can customize the filling to your preferences, using truffles, chocolate candies, or even gingerbread.

Preparing the baskets

1. Prepare the molds: Start by using aluminum foil to create the shapes of the baskets. Cover a bowl with aluminum foil, making sure the edges are raised. If you want to make individual baskets, you can also cover some glasses with foil, thus forming smaller baskets. This will be the base for your delicious baskets.

2. Melt the chocolate: Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a plastic bag. Place the bag in hot water (bain-marie) and stir until the chocolate is completely melted. This method prevents the chocolate from burning and ensures a smooth texture. Remove the bag from the water and cut off a tip to start decorating the molds.

3. Decorate the molds: With the melted chocolate, carefully pour the chocolate along the edge of the mold and use a small tool (like a spatula) to spread the chocolate inside the mold, creating an even layer. Repeat this process with the white chocolate, applying it over the dark chocolate if you want a bicolor look.

4. Cooling: Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, until the chocolate has completely hardened. Now you are ready to take care of the fillings!

Preparing the cheese balls

1. Cook the semolina: In a pot, add 300 ml of milk and 4 tablespoons of semolina. Boil over low heat, stirring constantly, until you obtain a thick mixture. Add the sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla sugar, mixing well. Let it cool completely.

2. Mix the cheese: Once the semolina has cooled, add the cottage cheese and mix well until you obtain a homogeneous but consistent mixture. This will be the base for your balls.

3. Form the balls: Take a cherry, wrap it in the cheese mixture, and form a ball. Roll the ball in coconut for an attractive look and delicious texture. Place the balls on a tray and let them cool for about 30 minutes.

Preparing the cookie balls

1. Crumble the cookies: In a bowl, crush 500 g of cookies and add 100 g of ground walnuts, 5-6 tablespoons of cocoa, and vanilla sugar. Mix well.

2. Add the margarine: Melt approximately 200 g of margarine and pour it over the cookie mixture. Mix until the composition becomes moist and easy to shape.

3. Form the balls: Take a piece of the cookie mixture and wrap a cherry in it, forming a ball. Roll it in coconut, just like you did with the cheese balls.

Assembling the baskets

1. Fill the baskets: Remove the baskets from the refrigerator and fill them with the cheese and cookie balls. You can alternate the fillings to create a pleasant and varied appearance.

2. Final decoration: If desired, you can add melted chocolate or coconut on top for an elegant finish.

3. Serving: These delicious baskets are served cold. You can present them on a beautiful platter, accompanied by a chocolate sauce or a fruit sauce for an extra burst of flavor.

Useful tips and variations

- Be creative with the fillings: Instead of cherries, you can use other fruits such as strawberries or blackberries, or you can even add a splash of rum for a more intense flavor.
- Enrich the compositions: You can add a tablespoon of vanilla essence to enhance the flavors of the cheese or cookie balls.
- Cooling: Make sure all the balls are well chilled before placing them in the baskets to maintain their shape.
