Chicken breast with sour cream and mushrooms
I started preparing this culinary delight by frying the chicken breast in a pan with a little heated oil. I chose sunflower oil because it has a neutral taste and allows the flavors to shine through. I cut the chicken breast into suitable pieces to ensure even cooking. After the meat developed a golden crust on all sides, I removed it from the pan and set it aside to retain its juices and flavor.
In the same pan, I added finely chopped onion, letting it sauté over medium heat. The aroma of the sautéed onion began to fill the kitchen, bringing a sense of warmth and comfort. When the onion became translucent and slightly caramelized, I moved on to the next ingredient: the champignon mushrooms. I sliced the mushrooms thinly for quick and even cooking. I added them to the pan, mixed well, and let everything simmer, covering the pan with a lid to retain steam and enhance the flavors.
After about 5-7 minutes, when the mushrooms started to soften and release their juices, I added the fried chicken breast back into the pan, carefully mixing everything together. I seasoned with salt, pepper, and a few herbs such as thyme or oregano to add extra flavor. These spices perfectly complement the delicate flavors of the chicken and mushrooms, creating a tasty and comforting dish.
To complete the recipe, I added half a cup of cooking cream, mixing everything well to achieve a creamy and rich sauce. I let the dish simmer on low heat for 10 minutes to allow all the ingredients to blend harmoniously, and the sauce to become slightly thicker. During this time, the aroma intensified, and the food took on an appetizing appearance, with a velvety sauce clinging perfectly to the meat.
To serve, I chose to add a touch of freshness. I chopped some fresh parsley leaves and sprinkled them on top of the dish, adding color and a refreshing aroma. I decided to serve this dish alongside a side of basmati rice, which absorbs the delicious sauce perfectly. Thus, I created a complete, hearty, and flavorful meal, perfect for dinner with family or friends.
