Fruit Skewers

This delicious recipe is perfect for bringing a smile to the faces of your loved ones, whether we serve it for breakfast, as a dessert, or even as a healthy snack. It is quick to prepare and can be customized based on the seasonal fruits we have available. So, let's get to work!

We start by washing the chosen fruits well, whether they are strawberries, peaches, bananas, or even pineapple. After washing them, we carefully peel them if necessary and cut them into suitable pieces to be threaded onto the skewers. Coconut is a special ingredient in this recipe; we crack it open carefully to avoid losing the delicious milk inside. After obtaining the coconut milk, we put it in a container and grate the flesh, keeping it separate.

Now, it’s the most fun part! We put the pieces of fruit on the skewers. This activity becomes a real fun time when we do it together with the little ones, so don’t hesitate to involve them. However, be careful to avoid any accidents with the sharp skewers. In this culinary adventure, I had my niece Alessia by my side, who is passionate about everything related to cooking!

On a plate, we mix the flour with cinnamon, and in another container, we combine the egg with the coconut milk (or with another type of plant milk, such as oat milk, which brings an absolutely wonderful taste). Each skewer will first be dipped in the flour and cinnamon mixture, then in the egg and milk mixture, and finally, we generously sprinkle the grated coconut flesh.

In a pan, we add a tablespoon of butter, and after it melts, we put the skewers to fry. Each skewer will stay in the pan for about 2-3 minutes on each side, and depending on the size of the pan, we can fry about four skewers at a time. It is important to add a tablespoon of butter each time we fry a new batch of skewers to ensure they have a golden and delicious crust.

After frying all the skewers, we take care of the delicious sauce. We put the honey in a pan and heat it over low heat, being careful not to exceed 40 degrees. We add the ground walnuts or almonds and stir continuously, cooking on the stove until the mixture becomes fluid, creamy, and aromatic. With this sauce, we will decorate our skewers, adding an extra flavor.

And don’t forget, if you have leftover fruits, it’s no problem! You can turn them into a fresh fruit salad, just as delicious and comforting. Enjoy your meal! This recipe will surely become your favorite, and the moments spent with your loved ones will be even more enjoyable!
