Quattro Formaggi Salad
This delicious recipe, with an attractive appearance, is perfect for serving at both special occasions and gatherings with friends. We start by preparing all the necessary ingredients and then get to assembling this appetizing platter.
The first step is to take care of the cottage cheese. We use about 300 grams of cottage cheese, which we mix with 5 tablespoons of sour cream. This mixture will create a creamy and delicious base for the rest of the ingredients. If you want to add extra flavor and a more pleasant appearance, add a few sprigs of freshly chopped dill. This green ingredient will not only add a fresh taste but also a vibrant color, making the dish look wonderful when portioned.
The next layer consists of onion. You can choose between red onion, green onion, or regular onion, depending on personal preferences. Red onion, for example, adds a touch of color and a slightly sweet taste, so I opted for this one. Slice the onion into thin scales and rub it with a little salt to intensify its flavor and make it more digestible. Spread the onion evenly over the cottage cheese layer.
We continue with a layer of telemea or any salty cheese, grated. This layer will add an interesting texture and a rich taste, perfectly complementing the other ingredients. After the cheese, we add 3-4 hard-boiled eggs, grated. The boiled eggs will provide not only a savory taste but also nutritional value, being an excellent source of protein.
The next ingredient is feta cheese or sheep cheese, which should also be grated. This layer will add a note of creaminess and a special flavor, perfect for enriching the dish. After the cheese, it’s time to cover everything with a generous layer of homemade mayonnaise. This will bind all the ingredients together and add incredible flavor.
To finish the dish, we do not forget the grated cheese. Grate it generously over the mayonnaise, so you get a golden and appetizing crust when the dish comes out of the oven. Finally, decorate the platter with black olives or other ingredients you like, such as hot peppers or slices of tomatoes. This detail will add not only extra taste but also an attractive visual aspect. Enjoy this dish with friends or family and savor every bite!
