This meat and vegetable lasagna recipe is my personalized version, full of flavors and textures that will surely win you over. Whether you're preparing it for a family dinner or a gathering with friends, this lasagna will bring smiles to the faces of your loved ones.

The history of lasagna is fascinating, with deep roots in European culinary traditions. Over time, recipes have evolved, and each cook brings their unique contribution, making it a personalized dish. The ingredients used can vary, but the essence remains the same: layers of goodness that melt in your mouth.

Necessary ingredients:
- 400 g minced meat (a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 300 g mixed frozen vegetables (peas, carrots, celery)
- 1/2 can of diced tomatoes (about 200 g)
- Fresh lasagna sheets (enough for 4-5 layers)
- 50 ml red wine
- 200 g grated cheese (ideally a cheese that melts well)
- 200 ml cooking cream
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for sautéing

Preparation steps:

1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by washing and finely chopping the onion. This step is essential because the onion will provide a flavor base for the meat sauce. Also, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients at hand.

2. Sautéing the onion: In a large pan, add a few tablespoons of oil and sauté the onion over medium heat. It will become transparent and release its flavors, transforming your dish.

3. Adding the meat: Once the onion is ready, add the minced meat to the pan. Stir frequently until the meat changes color and is well cooked. It's important not to let the meat sit too long in the pan to avoid drying it out.

4. Incorporating the vegetables: After the meat is cooked, add the mixed frozen vegetables. These will add not only nutrients but also a pleasant texture to the sauce. Mix everything well and let the vegetables thaw.

5. Adding tomatoes and wine: Once the vegetables have thawed, add the diced tomatoes and red wine. This last ingredient will enhance the flavors and add a touch of refinement. Let the mixture boil on high heat until the liquid reduces, about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Preparing the lasagna dish: Before starting the assembly, soak the baking dish in water for 30 minutes. This step will help retain moisture during baking, giving the lasagna layers a better texture.

7. Assembling the lasagna: Start with a layer of lasagna sheets at the bottom of the dish. Cover with a layer of cooking cream, then add a portion of the meat and vegetable mixture, followed by a layer of grated cheese. Continue alternating layers until the dish is filled, making sure to finish with a layer of lasagna sheets, cream, and grated cheese on top.

8. Baking: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese on top is melted and golden brown.

9. Finishing: Once the lasagna is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. During this time, you can prepare the beaten egg with 1 tablespoon of cream and a teaspoon of tomato paste. Cover the melted cheese layer with this mixture and put the dish back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes, until a delicious crust forms.

10. Serving: Cut the lasagna into portions and serve it warm. You can add a few fresh basil leaves on top for an extra burst of flavor and a nice appearance.

Useful tips:
- Use fresh lasagna sheets for a finer texture. They do not require pre-boiling.
- You can add herbs like oregano or basil to the sauce for an even richer taste.
- If you want a vegetarian version, you can replace the meat with mushrooms or fresh vegetables like zucchini or eggplant.

Delicious combinations: This lasagna can be served alongside a crunchy green salad with lemon dressing or with a glass of red wine. Additionally, a light vegetable soup would make a perfect introduction to this hearty dish.

Nutritional benefits: This lasagna recipe is an excellent source of protein due to the meat and cheese, while the vegetables add essential fiber and vitamins. By choosing low-fat ingredients, you can make this lasagna a healthier dish.

Calories: A serving of lasagna contains approximately 450-500 calories, depending on the exact ingredients used. It is a more filling dish, so don't forget to enjoy every bite!

This meat and vegetable lasagna is not just a simple recipe; it's a culinary experience that brings family and friends together at the table. Try it and see how it quickly becomes a favorite in your kitchen! Enjoy your meal!
