A brief history
Skewers have a rich history, originating in various culinary cultures. They have been used over time as a way to combine different ingredients and cook them over an open fire. Today, skewers are a symbol of gathering and conviviality, often served at parties and festive occasions.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Prepare the ingredients: Start by washing all the vegetables thoroughly. Cut the cucumber into cubes or rounds, the radish into thin slices, and the bell pepper into square pieces. The cherry tomatoes are used whole, just cleaned of any impurities.
2. Assembling the skewers: On each skewer, alternate the ingredients to create an attractive appearance. For example, you can start with a cherry tomato, followed by a piece of pepper, a slice of cucumber, and a radish. Continue alternating colors and textures until the skewer is full.
3. Wrapping the lettuce: Take a leaf of lettuce and wrap it in aluminum foil. This trick not only keeps the lettuce fresh but also adds an elegant touch to the platter.
4. Arranging on the platter: Place the lettuce in the center of the platter and stick the skewers around it. This arrangement will not only catch the eye but will also add a pleasant contrast of colors.
5. Serving: These appetizer skewers are served cold, perfect to be enjoyed as they are or accompanied by a yogurt sauce or tzatziki, which will perfectly complement the taste of the vegetables.
Helpful tips

- Complementary drinks: These skewers pair wonderfully with a dry white wine or a light fruit cocktail.

These skewers are not only delicious but also healthy! The vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. For example, cucumbers are hydrating, and tomatoes have anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, they are low in calories, making them ideal for a light snack.

A green salad is dressed with aluminum foil and placed on a platter, then decorated. The skewers are prepared by cutting radishes, cucumbers, peppers, and adding cherry tomatoes and olives. It looks great on a table with appetizers. I prepared everything for fasting, considering that I made FESTANIA and since it is a fast, I also prepared a meal (also for fasting). Unfortunately, I didn't manage to take a picture before setting the table; the priest arrived earlier... and after everyone left, only one skewer remained, and that one... poor thing. I will also include 2 pictures where the skewers are more visible, but they are not for fasting. I hope you like them and try them with confidence.
