This recipe is simple yet full of flavors, offering a delicious combination of textures and tastes. Moreover, potatoes are an excellent source of carbohydrates and vitamins, making this recipe not only a tasty option but also nutritious.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 20-25 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
Number of servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

- 8 large potatoes
- 100 g butter (or more, to taste)
- 200 g grated cheese (or preferred cheese)
- 150 g ham (diced)
- 150 g smoked bacon (diced)
- 100 g salami (finely chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pizza sauce (or other preferred sauce)

Necessary utensils

- A large pot for boiling potatoes
- Knife
- Spoon or knife for scooping
- Aluminum foil
- Baking tray
- Grater for cheese

Instructions

1. Boiling the potatoes
Start by washing the potatoes well under running water, removing any impurities. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add a teaspoon of salt. Boil on low heat to prevent cracking. The potatoes are ready when they can be easily pierced with a fork but still firm. This step is crucial to ensure that the potatoes maintain their shape after stuffing.

2. Cooling and scooping the potatoes
Once the potatoes are boiled, remove them from the water and let them cool slightly. When they are cool enough to handle, cut them in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the insides, leaving about a 1 cm margin to maintain the integrity of the potato.

3. Stuffing the potatoes
Now comes the creative part! In the bowl with the potato flesh, add the diced ham, smoked bacon, and salami. Mix everything well, adding salt and pepper to taste. You can adapt the filling based on what you have in the fridge: feta cheese, sautéed mushrooms, vegetables, or even eggs.

4. Adding butter and cheese
Place a slice of butter on each half of the stuffed potato. This will add extra flavor and a creamy texture. Generously sprinkle the grated cheese on top, which will melt beautifully in the oven, creating a delicious crust.

5. Baking
Wrap each half of the potato in aluminum foil to retain moisture and bake evenly. Place them on a tray and put them in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and has started to brown.

6. Serving
After removing them from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. You can serve them with pizza sauce, but you can also try a garlic yogurt sauce or a fresh salad to add a refreshing contrast.

Useful tips

- Choosing potatoes: Opt for "Carmen" or "București" potatoes, which hold up well during cooking and have a pleasant texture.
- Vegetarian option: You can replace the meat with vegetables such as zucchini, olives, or spinach, and add feta cheese for extra flavor.
- Make ahead: Stuffed potatoes can be prepared a few hours in advance and kept in the fridge, then placed directly in the oven before serving.

Nutritional benefits

Potatoes are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, essential for energy. Adding ham and cheese provides protein and calcium, making this recipe a balanced meal. Moreover, by using fresh, quality ingredients, you can create a healthy and filling dish.
