To prepare a savory and comforting dish, we start with the basic ingredient: potatoes. Choose quality potatoes that are starchy and suitable for baking. After baking them, let them cool, then grate them to obtain a fine puree. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks with the melted butter, which should be warm, not hot, to avoid cooking the eggs. Then add the flour, mixing gently to avoid lumps.

Fresh herbs like dill, parsley, or green onions add extra flavor and color. Chop them finely and add them to the potato mixture, along with the ground nuts, which will provide a crunchy texture. Don’t forget to season with salt, then mix everything very well to achieve a homogeneous mixture. If you wish, you can use a blender to quickly and efficiently mix all the ingredients.

In a pan, cut the bread into cubes and toast them in butter until golden and crispy. These croutons will add a pleasant contrast to the soft texture of the dumpling. Once they are ready, remove them to a plate and let them cool.

Now, the potato, butter, flour, and herb mixture is spread out on a work surface using a rolling pin until you achieve an even thickness. Place the croutons in the middle of the sheet and carefully roll it up, ensuring the edges are sealed well so it doesn't unravel during boiling. The dumpling thus formed is placed in a pot of salted water, on a rack or a sieve, and boiled for 30-35 minutes. This step is essential to allow the dumpling to cook evenly without unraveling.

After removing the dumpling from the water, let it cool on a platter. In a separate pan, fry the bacon and sausages in a little oil until they are crispy and golden. These will add a special flavor to the dish. Finally, cut the dumpling into thick slices and serve it alongside the fried bacon and sausages. This dish is perfect for a family meal or a special occasion, bringing a touch of warmth and joy to every slice. Enjoy your meal!
