The cozonac is one of the most beloved traditional desserts, and in this recipe, we will transform the classic delight into a simple yet savory dish. We start by cutting the slices of cozonac into cubes of about 2-3 centimeters. These will perfectly absorb our creamy mixture, providing a rich taste and a pleasant texture. It is important to choose a fresh cozonac to ensure that the dessert will be truly delicious.

In a large bowl, we beat the eggs with the sugar until we obtain a fluffy and homogeneous mixture. We add the essences of vanilla and rum, which will give an irresistible aroma to our preparation. Then, we pour in the cold milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. A pinch of salt is essential, as it will balance the sweetness of the dessert and enhance the flavors.

After obtaining a uniform mixture, we turn our attention to the cozonac cubes. We soak each piece with the egg and milk mixture, ensuring they are well soaked. This step is essential for achieving a moist and tasty dessert. We give it a little patience, allowing the cubes to absorb the liquid for 10-15 minutes.

We prepare the molds in which we will bake the dessert. We grease each mold with butter or oil, making sure to cover all corners well. We place the cozonac cubes in the molds, sprinkling some raisins between the layers. The raisins add a note of sweetness and an interesting texture, perfectly contrasting with the cozonac.

After arranging all the ingredients in the molds, we pour the remaining egg and milk mixture over the cozonac, ensuring that each piece is well covered. If we notice that a little extra moisture is needed, we can beat an egg with a few tablespoons of milk and add this mixture on top.

Now, our oven should be preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. We place the molds in the oven, letting them bake for about 25-30 minutes. It is important to carefully monitor the baking process; the dessert is ready when it becomes golden on top and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

After baking, we let the preparation cool slightly before serving, so that the flavors settle and intensify. This cozonac dessert with milk and eggs is perfect to be enjoyed alongside a cup of tea or coffee, bringing a touch of joy in every bite.
