To create a delicacy that impresses with its appearance and taste, we will prepare a recipe for cocoa bread, combining fluffy texture with rich flavors. We start by preparing the necessary ingredients. You will need fresh milk, sunflower oil, eggs, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and of course, flour. These are the base of our dough.

In a large bowl, add the warm milk, oil, beaten eggs, baking powder, and yeast. Mix well with a spatula or whisk until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Begin to gradually add the sugar, stirring continuously to ensure it dissolves completely. Then, start incorporating the flour, one cup at a time, until you obtain an elastic dough. The dough should not stick to your hands; if necessary, you can add a little more flour. Once you have achieved the desired consistency, cover the bowl with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in volume.

After the dough has risen, divide it into two equal parts. In one of the parts, incorporate cocoa, mixing well to achieve an even shade. Let the two pieces of dough rest for another 30 minutes so they can rise again.

It’s time to shape the loaves. Each piece of dough will be divided into 8 equal parts. Take two pieces, one white and one black, and roll them out with a rolling pin, forming thin sheets. Cut each sheet into 8 smaller rectangles. Place a piece of white dough over a black one, leaving about a finger's distance between them to create an attractive appearance. Continue this process until all pieces of dough are used.

Carefully place them in a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure to maintain the distance between them. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the tray inside. Bake the loaves until they turn golden and brown evenly, about 25-30 minutes. Once they are ready, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

While they cool, prepare a sugar syrup from water and sugar, which you can flavor with vanilla or lemon zest. After the loaves have cooled slightly, dip them in the sugar syrup so they absorb the sweet flavor and moisture. Then place them on a tray to cool completely. Enjoy them with your loved ones, relishing their refined taste and attractive appearance! These cocoa loaves are perfect for any special occasion, but also for a sweet everyday snack.
