Savory cake
To make a delicious savory cake, we start by preparing the necessary ingredients. We take fresh eggs, about 4-5 in number, and beat them well in a large bowl. We gradually add milk, about 200 ml, and 100 ml of sour cream, whisking vigorously until we obtain a homogeneous and creamy mixture. This will form the moist base of our preparation, giving it a fluffy and flavorful texture.
Once we have achieved this mixture, we proceed to incorporate the flour. We start adding the flour gradually, about 300 g, mixing constantly to avoid lumps. We also add a teaspoon of baking powder, which will help the mixture rise and become fluffier. It is important to ensure that the baking powder is well distributed throughout the composition.
The next step is to add cheese, so we take 150 g of cheese and grate it using a large grater, then incorporate it into the egg mixture. This will add an intense flavor and unmistakable aroma to our dish. We continue with 100 g of diced ham, a red or green bell pepper, also diced into small cubes, and a few sliced black olives, which will bring an extra flavor and a touch of freshness.
We carefully mix all the ingredients, ensuring that each piece is well coated with our batter. After we have obtained a uniform mixture, we prepare a large loaf pan, which we line with baking paper to facilitate the removal of the cake after baking. We carefully pour the mixture into the pan, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
Now, it is time to preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Once the oven has reached the desired temperature, we place the pan inside and bake for 35-40 minutes. It is important to check the cake with a toothpick. If it comes out clean after being inserted into the middle of the cake, it means it is ready. If you want to experiment, you can add finely chopped mushrooms to the mixture for an even richer taste. This recipe is versatile and can be adapted according to your preferences, making it perfect for a savory snack or an appetizer at a festive meal.
