Pizza Roll
To prepare these delicious rolls, we will start by making a regular yeast dough, which will be the perfect base for our savory filling. In a large bowl, we combine 500 grams of wheat flour with 250 ml of lukewarm milk, 25 g of fresh yeast, 50 g of sugar, 50 ml of oil, and a teaspoon of salt. We mix the ingredients until we obtain a homogeneous dough. This will require a rising period of about 30 minutes, during which it will grow and become fluffy. It is important to choose a warm place without drafts to allow the yeast to work its magic.
After the dough has risen considerably, we take it out onto a floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin until we obtain a rectangular sheet about 0.5 cm thick. This sheet will be the base of our rolls, and now is the time to enrich it with various flavors and ingredients. We start by spreading an even layer of spicy tomato sauce, which will provide a note of intensity and a pleasant taste. On top of the sauce, we place thinly sliced fresh mushrooms, which will add a nice texture and umami flavor.
We continue with tender grilled chicken breast, cut into small cubes, which will provide protein and enrich the dish. Slices of red and yellow bell peppers add not only color but also a sweet and crunchy taste. The last ingredient is grated cheese, which will melt beautifully in the oven, providing a delicious crust. To bind all these ingredients together, we beat an egg and spread it evenly over our filling.
After combining all the ingredients, we carefully roll the sheet, making sure to keep the filling inside. The resulting roll is cut into equal portions, which we place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper, cut side up, to allow the cheese to brown nicely. We sprinkle a little more grated cheese on top and put the dish in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. We bake the rolls for about 25-30 minutes, or until they become golden and fluffy.
After taking them out of the oven, we let the rolls cool slightly, then we can serve them warm. These rolls are perfect as an appetizer or as a main course, being full of flavors and textures that complement each other perfectly.
