Filled Cake
To prepare the two delicious cakes, we start with the necessary ingredients. We will need: 6 eggs, 300 g sugar, 200 ml oil, 300 g flour, 1 packet of baking powder, 100 g cocoa, 250 g margarine, 200 g powdered sugar, 500 ml milk, and 50 g crushed walnuts for decoration. It is important to organize ourselves and have all the ingredients at hand before starting the cooking process.
The first step is to prepare the dough for the two cakes. In a large bowl, we mix the 6 eggs with 300 g sugar until we obtain a fluffy and light-colored mixture. We gradually add 200 ml of oil, continuing to mix to achieve a homogeneous emulsion. We separate the mixture into two equal parts. In the first part, we add 200 g of flour and 1 packet of baking powder, gently mixing with a spatula to avoid losing air from the mixture. In the second part, we add the same amount of flour and 100 g of cocoa, mixing well to ensure that the cocoa is evenly distributed.
After preparing the two mixtures, we pour the yellow dough into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and do the same with the cocoa dough. We bake the two cakes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Once the cakes are baked, we let them cool completely on a rack.
In the meantime, we take care of the delicious cream. In a bowl, we place 250 g of soft margarine at room temperature and 200 g of powdered sugar, then mix until we obtain a fluffy cream. In a saucepan, we bring 500 ml of milk to a boil. We gradually add the flour, continuously stirring to avoid lumps. We cook the mixture over low heat until it becomes a thick pudding, then let it cool completely.
Once the pudding has cooled, we start incorporating it into the margarine cream, adding one tablespoon of it at a time and mixing well after each addition. It is essential to be careful with the temperature of the pudding, as a temperature that is too high can cause the cream to curdle. Once the cream is ready, we get to filling the cakes.
We slice the two cakes into even slices and begin the filling operation. We take a yellow slice, add a tablespoon of cream, then stick a brown slice on top. We continue the procedure, adding cream between each slice, alternating colors until we finish the first cake. After we are done, we melt 100 g of cooking chocolate and pour it evenly over the cakes. We sprinkle crushed walnuts on top for an extra touch of flavor and texture.
The cakes should be left to chill overnight, ideally for the flavors to meld and for the cake to soften. The next day, we can enjoy these delicious cakes, which will surely impress everyone on any occasion!
