This chocolate-covered cake is the perfect dessert for any occasion. The rich flavor and moist texture, combined with a decadent chocolate glaze, make it irresistible. Whether you want to serve it at a birthday, a gathering with friends, or simply indulge yourself, this simple and quick recipe will bring you much satisfaction.

Ingredients:
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup sugar (approximately 200 g)
- 5 tablespoons oil (preferably sunflower or olive)
- 100 g nuts (chopped)
- 1 cup flour (approximately 150 g)
- 50 g chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon rum essence
- 1 teaspoon almond essence
- 50 g margarine or butter (for greasing the pan)
- Chocolate glaze for decoration (you can use DUO glaze or melted chocolate)

Step 1: Preparing the cake batter
Start by separating the egg yolks from the whites. In a large bowl, add the yolks and sugar. Use a mixer to beat the mixture for about 5 minutes until it becomes a fluffy, light-colored cream. Then, thin the mixture with a tablespoon of warm water and gradually add the oil while continuing to mix.

Step 2: Adding the dry ingredients
Incorporate the sifted flour, rum and almond essences, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts. Mix with a spatula or wooden spoon, being careful not to form lumps. The mixture should be smooth and slightly thicker than pancake batter.

Step 3: Preparing the egg whites
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. This will add volume and airiness to the cake. Start folding the egg whites into the yolk mixture using a spatula and gentle up-and-down motions to maintain the air in the whites.

Step 4: Baking
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a cake pan with margarine or butter and pour in the prepared mixture. Bake the cake for 40 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test (the toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean). Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 5: The glaze
To prepare the glaze, melt the chocolate (you can use dark or milk chocolate) in a bowl over a double boiler or in the microwave, being careful not to burn it. Pour the warm glaze over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides for a spectacular effect. You can decorate with chopped nuts or chocolate chips for a more appealing look.

Serving suggestions and variations
Serve the chocolate-covered cake plain or alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious contrast. You can experiment with flavors by adding a few drops of orange essence or even pieces of dried fruit into the batter. If you are a fan of crunchy textures, replace some of the nuts with hazelnuts or almonds.

With every slice, you will enjoy a quick and simple dessert, perfect for any time of day. This chocolate-covered cake will surely become a favorite in your home!
