To prepare a delicious cheese roll recipe, we will start by organizing our ingredients and necessary steps. It is important to have everything at hand to make our work easier and achieve a perfect result.

The first step is to prepare the cheese mixture. Choose a fresh cheese, such as cottage cheese or feta cheese, and place it in a large bowl. Add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, a pinch of salt, and, if desired, a little vanilla to enhance the flavor. Mix the ingredients well until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. If the cheese is too soft, you can add a beaten egg to give it a firmer consistency. Set the mixture aside to firm up a bit.

Meanwhile, take the pastry sheets out of the freezer and let them thaw completely. After they have thawed, take each sheet and cut it in half, so you get smaller, easier-to-roll portions. Before working with the sheets, brush them with a drizzle of oil on both sides, to prevent them from sticking and to achieve a crispier texture after baking.

Now, it’s time to fill the sheets. Take half a sheet and place a portion of the cheese mixture at one end of the sheet. Make sure not to put too much filling to avoid it leaking during baking. Gather the edges of the sheet over the filling and carefully roll it up, forming a tight roll. Repeat this process with all the sheets and the remaining mixture.

After you have formed all the rolls, preheat the oven to a suitable temperature, around 180°C. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. To achieve a golden and appetizing crust, brush each roll with a beaten egg. This will give a nice shine and enhance the final appearance of the dish. On top, sprinkle a little sugar, which will caramelize during baking, adding a sweet taste and a crispy texture.

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they become golden and crispy. Once they are ready, take them out and let them cool slightly before serving. These cheese rolls are ideal as both an appetizer and a dessert, suitable for any occasion. Enjoy them warm, alongside a cup of tea or coffee, and savor every bite!
