Raluca Cake – A Delight that Charms
The Raluca Cake is a wonderful recipe that combines the delicacy of vanilla cream with the intense flavor of cocoa, making it perfect for any occasion. This cake, lovingly created by my colleague Raluca, is easy to prepare and promises to bring smiles to the faces of your loved ones. Whether it's a birthday, a party, or simply a weekend evening with family, this cake will surely be the star of the table.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooling time: 2 hours
Number of servings: 8
Necessary ingredients:
- 1 store-bought cocoa cake layer (or you can use a homemade cocoa cake recipe if you want to add your personal touch)
- 250 ml milk
- 1 packet of vanilla pudding mix (make sure it's of good quality for a perfect taste)
- Almond essence (about 1-2 tablespoons, depending on your preferences)
- 500 ml Hulala whipped cream (or a fat liquid cream that whips well)
- Cocoa decorations (for an elegant look)
- 100 g sugar (you can adjust the amount according to your taste)
Preparation of Raluca Cake:
1. Preparing the syrup: In a small pot, add 250 ml of water and 100 g of sugar. Place the pot on medium heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves. Once the syrup starts to boil, reduce the heat and add the almond essence. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes, then turn off the heat and let the syrup cool.
2. Preparing the cream: In a bowl, add 250 ml of milk and the packet of vanilla pudding mix. Mix well with a whisk or an electric mixer, according to the instructions on the package. The cream should become smooth and fluffy. If you want an even richer vanilla flavor, you can add a few drops of vanilla essence.
3. Whipping the cream: In another bowl, whip the Hulala cream with a mixer until it becomes firm and fluffy. It is essential not to overwhip it, as it can turn into butter. Once the cream is ready, keep it cold until the cake assembly.
4. Assembling the cake: Place the first layer of the cake on a serving platter. Using a brush or a spoon, generously soak the layer with the almond syrup, so it becomes moist and flavorful. Then, add half of the vanilla cream on the soaked layer, leveling it evenly.
5. Continue with the second layer: Place the second layer of the cake over the vanilla cream. Soak again with the remaining syrup, then add the rest of the vanilla cream. Place the last layer of the cake and soak again.
6. Covering with whipped cream: Use the whipped cream to cover the entire cake. Smooth the cream with a spatula for an even appearance. You can use a serrated spatula to create a decorative effect.
7. Decorating the cake: Sprinkle cocoa decorations on the surface of the cake for an extra touch of elegance. You can also use grated chocolate or fresh fruits for a more sophisticated look.
8. Cooling: Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This time allows the flavors to blend and makes the cake easier to cut.
Useful tips:
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before you start preparing the cake. This will help better homogenize the cream and whipped cream.
- If you prefer a less sweet cake, you can reduce the sugar in the syrup or use agave syrup as an alternative.
- The Raluca Cake can be customized with various flavors. Add a splash of orange essence or cocoa powder to the vanilla cream for a special touch.
Nutritional benefits:
This cake, although delicious, should be enjoyed in moderation. The cocoa layer provides energy, while the vanilla cream and whipped cream add a serving of calcium. Additionally, almond essence can bring cardiovascular benefits, having antioxidant properties.
