To prepare a delicious apple pie, we start by putting the flour in a large bowl. We add the 200 grams of lard, which will give the dough a fine texture and a perfect aroma. Next are the egg yolks, which are essential for providing richness and a golden color to the dough. Then, we add the sugar, vanilla sugar for a sweet and fragrant note, salt to balance the flavors, and sour cream. It is important to mix the ingredients well; if the dough does not homogenize perfectly, we can add 1-2 tablespoons of sour cream, depending on necessity. We continue by incorporating the baking powder and grated lemon zest, which will bring an extra freshness.

We knead the mixture until all the ingredients are integrated, thus obtaining a consistent dough, but not too hard, ideal for rolling out. Once we have obtained the dough, we divide it into two equal pieces. We take one piece and roll it out on a strip of plastic wrap, making sure it is large enough to cover the entire tray, leaving some excess dough on the edges to help form a delicious crust.

The apples, the main ingredient that gives flavor to this pie, must be carefully peeled and then grated using a large grater. After grating them, we squeeze them to remove the excess juice. At this point, we add the sugar, cinnamon, and a handful of semolina, which will help absorb the juices from the apples and provide a pleasant texture. We evenly place the prepared apples over the dough in the tray.

To finish the pie, we roll out the second sheet of dough, which we carefully place on top of the apple filling. Using a fork, we prick the sheet in several places to allow steam to escape during baking, thus preventing bubbles from forming. We preheat the oven and place the pie in the center. We bake at high heat for about 5 minutes, then reduce the temperature and continue baking until the pie gets a golden and appetizing hue on the surface.

After the pie is baked, we take it out of the oven and let it cool. Once cooled, we sprinkle powdered sugar on top, giving it an elegant and tempting appearance. Finally, we cut the pie into diamond shapes, ready to be served. This delicacy will bring smiles to the faces of loved ones. Enjoy!
