Ingredients:
- 250 g pasta (macaroni or penne)
- 400 g cod fillets (fresh or frozen)
- 200 ml cooking cream
- 100 g grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 50 g butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Start by preparing the pasta. Boil it according to the package instructions in salted water. Choose pasta that absorbs sauce well, such as macaroni or penne. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

2. Meanwhile, in a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the cod fillets. Boil for about 10 minutes in lightly salted water. This step will keep the fish tender. Check if they are cooked by gently piercing with a fork; if they flake easily, they are done. Remove from water and let cool slightly before flaking with a fork.

3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic cloves. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent and fragrant. Add the sweet paprika and mix well.

4. In the same skillet, add the cooking cream, mix and let simmer gently for 5 minutes. Add the flaked cod and mix well, making sure the fish is evenly coated with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. In a baking dish, combine the cooked pasta with the cod sauce. Mix everything well so that the pasta absorbs the delicious flavor of the sauce. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the mixture.

6. Place the gratin in the preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and a crunchy crust forms.

7. Finally, remove the gratin from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley on top for an extra touch of freshness and color.

Serving suggestions:
The cod gratin pairs perfectly with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. You can also add a few slices of lemon to bring a pleasant contrast of acidity. If you want a spicier version, you can add chili flakes to the cream sauce.
