Cream Pie
To prepare a delicious and refined cake, we will start by preparing the two types of dough. First, we roll out a sheet of dough 1, making sure it is large enough to cover the entire tray we will use. It is important to ensure that the sheet is even and not too thick, to achieve a perfect texture. Once we have managed to roll out the sheet, we spread dough 2 over it, either with our hands or with a spoon, making sure to cover the entire surface.
Once we have applied dough 2, we carefully roll everything up, as if we were forming a roulade, ensuring that the dough wraps evenly. After we have obtained the roulade, we twist it into a spiral shape to fit into the bowl we prepared earlier. This step is essential to allow the dough to cool properly, so we put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
In the meantime, we will take care of the delicious cream that will complete our cake. We bring the milk to a boil together with the sugar and vanilla, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Then, we add the beaten eggs and flour, continuing to stir over low heat. It is essential to stay by the stove and stir patiently until the cream begins to thicken and becomes homogeneous, like any other cooked cream.
Once the cream has completely cooled, we carefully add it over the first sheet of rolled dough in the tray, ensuring it is evenly distributed. We cover everything with the other sheet of dough, making sure to seal the edges well to prevent the cream from leaking during baking. We preheat the oven to 150-200 °C and bake the cake until the top sheet turns golden, which will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on our oven.
After the cake is baked, we let it cool completely before cutting it. It is recommended to prepare it in the morning to serve it in the evening, as the flavor will intensify as it cools. We cut the cake into portions and serve it with great pleasure, enjoying every bite. This cake not only looks spectacular but also perfectly combines the crunchy textures of the dough with the creaminess of the filling, providing a memorable culinary experience.
Ingredients: Dough 1: 7 tablespoons of flour, 7 tablespoons of mineral water, 3 tablespoons of oil. Mix everything in a bowl and you will get a soft and delicate dough. Dough 2: 1 tablespoon of butter at room temperature (meaning it should be like a cream), 1 tablespoon of flour. Mix them in a small bowl and you will get a cream. Filling: a handful of raisins, boiled cream: 750 ml of fresh milk (or 500 ml of milk and 250 ml of cream for whipping), 100-150 g of vanilla sugar, 3 eggs, 50 g of flour.
