Stuffed mushrooms with shrimp
Mushrooms are a versatile and delicious ingredient, suitable for a variety of dishes, but today we will focus on a savory recipe for stuffed mushrooms with shrimp that will surely impress anyone who tries them.
Start by carefully cleaning the mushrooms. Choose fresh, medium-sized mushrooms, preferably Champignon or Portobello, as they have a pleasant taste and a texture that will fit the filling perfectly. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt, being careful not to wash them with water, as they will absorb moisture. After cleaning, remove the stems of the mushrooms, keeping them for the filling.
In a skillet, add a little olive oil and heat it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the finely chopped mushroom stems along with the finely chopped onion and crushed garlic. Sauté the mixture for about 5-7 minutes, until the onion becomes translucent and the flavors combine. Add chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley or dill, and season with salt and pepper to taste. This combination will give the filling a special flavor.
Meanwhile, chop the shrimp into small pieces. If you prefer, you can use pre-cooked shrimp, but make sure they are well cleaned. Add the shrimp to the skillet and mix well. Cook everything for a few minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and are well integrated into the mixture.
Once the filling is ready, take a spoon and start filling each mushroom with this delicious mixture. Make sure the filling is well packed, but don’t overdo it to avoid spilling during baking.
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (about 380 degrees Fahrenheit). Place the stuffed mushrooms in a baking dish, lightly oiling the bottom of the dish to prevent sticking. Bake the mushrooms for 30 minutes, until they become golden and appetizing.
When they are ready, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. These shrimp-stuffed mushrooms are an excellent appetizer or can serve as a refined main dish, perfect for a special dinner. Enjoy!
