Baked Soy Schnitzels
To prepare a delicious soy steak, start by boiling the soy pieces. In the water you boil them in, add a teaspoon of Delikat, a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of whole peppercorns, and three whole garlic cloves. These ingredients will not only flavor the soy but also provide a deep and savory taste. Let the soy pieces simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, starting from the moment the water reaches a boil. This step is essential as it allows the soy to absorb the flavors and become tastier. After boiling, remove the soy pieces from the water and let them drain well.
In the meantime, you can prepare the other ingredients. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water, then peel them and cut them into suitable cubes. The chili pepper is also cut into cubes, and the garlic is crushed to release the flavors completely. These fresh ingredients will add a vibrant and spicy note to your dish.
To continue, grease a heat-resistant dish, ceramic or even a tray with Rama or butter, making sure it is evenly coated. Then, season the drained soy pieces with salt, ground pepper, and ground thyme, mixing well to ensure each piece is well coated with spices. Place the soy pieces in the greased dish, and on top, add the chopped tomatoes, chili pepper, and crushed garlic. These layers will create a delicious combination of flavors.
Over all of this, pour 50 ml of oil, which will help with even cooking and add extra flavor. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Let everything bake for 30 minutes. In the last 15 minutes, remove the lid to allow the steak to brown nicely, acquiring a tasty crust.
This soy steak can be served alongside a savory side dish, such as boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, or rice. Choose the side dish you like the most and enjoy a tasty and healthy meal. Cook with love and don’t forget: Enjoy your meal!
