Preparation time: 20 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes
Number of servings: 20 meatballs
Sesame meatballs are an excellent choice for a snack or appetizer, being crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. With a mix of ground chicken, flavors, and sesame, these meatballs become a delicacy that everyone will love. I invite you to discover the recipe step by step!
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground chicken
- 60 g bread (about 4 slices of white bread)
- ½ head of garlic (or more if you like a strong flavor)
- ½ large onion or 1 small onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped dill (you can also use parsley if you prefer)
- 1 egg
- 100 g sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying
Step 1: Preparing the ingredients
Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature for an even texture. Finely chop the onion and garlic to release their flavors. The bread will soak slightly in cold water, so start by cutting it into strips and placing it in a bowl of water.
Step 2: Preparing the mixture
After the bread has soaked (about 1-2 minutes), remove the slices and squeeze them well to eliminate excess water. Place them in a large bowl over the ground chicken. Add the garlic, onion, egg, dill, salt, and pepper. Use an immersion blender to blend all the ingredients together until you have a homogeneous mixture. This will be the delicious base for your meatballs.
Step 3: Shaping the meatballs
Wet your hands with a little water to prevent the mixture from sticking. Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into balls the size of a ping-pong ball. Then, roll each ball in sesame seeds, ensuring it is evenly coated. This step will not only give them an appetizing appearance but will also add a crunchy texture.
Step 4: Frying
In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium heat until it becomes hot. Make sure there is enough oil to cover the meatballs so they fry evenly. Carefully immerse the meatballs in the oil and fry them for about 10 minutes, turning them occasionally until they are golden and crispy on all sides.
Step 5: Serving
Once the meatballs are ready, remove them and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve them warm, alongside a spinach or nettle puree, mashed potatoes, or a vegetable stir-fry platter for a delicious contrast.
Serving suggestion: You can accompany the meatballs with a yogurt sauce with dill or a spicy tomato sauce, which will add extra flavor.
Possible variations: If you want to experiment, you can replace the ground chicken with turkey or even a vegetarian option using cooked and mashed chickpeas. Add spices like cumin or paprika for an exotic touch!
Sesame meatballs are not only a simple and quick recipe but also a versatile dish, perfect for any occasion. Enjoy your meal!
