To prepare these delicious chocolate croissants, we start by making a moist and fluffy dough, which will become the base for this recipe. In a large bowl, we combine the necessary ingredients: flour, yeast, salt, sugar, warm milk, and melted butter. We mix well until we achieve a homogeneous composition, then we knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth. After we finish this stage, we cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. During this time, the dough will grow and become fluffy.

Once it has risen, we prepare to portion the dough. We divide the dough into appropriately sized pieces, depending on how big we want the croissants to be. We let each piece rest for a few minutes on a floured surface to relax. This step is important as it will facilitate the subsequent rolling out of the dough.

The next step is to roll each piece of dough into a round sheet. We use a rolling pin to achieve an even thickness, being careful not to make it too thin so that the dough does not tear when rolling. Once we have the round sheet, we cut it into triangles. The number of triangles depends on the desired size of the croissant.

On each triangle, we place a piece of chocolate on the wider side. Then, carefully, we start rolling the triangles from the wide base towards the narrow tip, ensuring that the chocolate is well wrapped in the dough. After we have rolled all the triangles, we place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. It is important to leave a little space between them, as they will continue to rise during baking.

To give them a golden color and an appetizing shine, we brush each croissant with beaten egg. After this stage, we cover the tray with a towel and let the croissants rise for another 15-20 minutes. During this time, we preheat the oven to a medium temperature, around 180 degrees Celsius.

When the croissants have risen nicely, we put them in the oven and bake them for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden and fluffy. The aroma that spreads in the kitchen will be irresistible! Once they are ready, we take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. These chocolate croissants are perfect for a special breakfast or a sweet snack, full of flavor and texture. Enjoy them with a cup of coffee or tea, and savor every bite!
