Meat Roll
To prepare a delicious pork roll, we need a few essential ingredients and a bit of patience to achieve a tasty and hearty dish. We start with 500 g of pork, which is juicier than beef, adding extra flavor. We add 80 g of smoked bacon, cut into very small pieces, to intensify the taste and provide a pleasant texture to the roll.
We continue with 4 eggs, of which we will use two for the meat mixture and two for the filling. It is important to prepare the rest of the ingredients according to the original recipe, adapting them to the amount of meat. Therefore, we make sure we have fresh herbs, grated parmesan, bread soaked in milk and well squeezed, grated onion, and crushed garlic at hand. Don’t forget the salt and pepper, which are essential for a balanced taste.
In a large bowl, we mix the minced meat with the two eggs, herbs, parmesan, bread, onion, and garlic. We add salt and pepper to taste, making sure to homogenize the mixture well. Once we have obtained a uniform mixture, we spread the composition on aluminum foil, forming a rectangle. We place the two boiled eggs in the middle of the roll, then using the foil, we carefully roll it up, ensuring that the eggs are well wrapped.
After rolling, we wrap the roll in foil and leave it in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to firm up. This step is crucial as it helps the roll maintain its shape during cooking. After 45 minutes, we take the roll out of the foil and carefully coat it in breadcrumbs, ensuring it is evenly covered.
We heat oil in a pan and fry the roll on each side for about 4-5 minutes until it becomes golden and crispy. Then, we transfer the roll to a greased baking tray, preheated to 180°C (350°F), and bake it for 45 minutes. It is important to baste the roll with the juices it leaves in the tray every 10 minutes to keep it juicy.
Once baked, the roll can be served both hot, alongside a side of vegetables or mashed potatoes, and cold, as an appetizer. This recipe not only impresses with its taste but also with its presentation, being ideal for special occasions or family meals. Enjoy every slice and savor its flavors!
