Oven-baked cauliflower (II)

Ingredients: 1 piece of larger cauliflower. For the sauce: 4-5 bell peppers, 3 onions, 400-500 g of minced chicken (turkey, pork), 5-6 tablespoons of oil, 2 peeled tomatoes, salt, pepper, delikat, 400 g sour cream, melted cheese or grated cheese (each puts what they want according to their taste).

Cauliflower is a versatile and healthy ingredient, and the recipe below helps us transform it into a delicious dish, perfect for any meal. We start by breaking the cauliflower into evenly sized florets so that they cook evenly. We boil it in a pot of salted water, being careful not to leave it on the heat for too long to maintain its crunchy texture. After it has boiled, we drain it and set it aside to cool slightly.

In the meantime, we prepare the sauce. In a deep pan, we heat oil and add finely chopped onion. We let it sauté until it becomes transparent, and its enticing aroma begins to spread throughout the kitchen. We then add bell peppers, diced into small cubes, which will bring a sweet taste and vibrant color to our dish. Once the peppers have softened, it’s time to add the minced meat. We mix well, sprinkle salt, pepper, and a pinch of Delikat to enhance the flavor.

After the meat has browned, we add peeled and diced tomatoes. These will contribute to creating a tasty and rich sauce. We let everything simmer for about 10 minutes, so the ingredients combine harmoniously and form a delicious sauce. If necessary, we add water, being careful not to add too much, to achieve a thicker sauce. If the meat is not fully cooked, we can add a bit more water and let it simmer until it is completely cooked.

Once the sauce is ready, we add the sour cream, mixing well and allowing it to come to a boil. This step will enrich the sauce with a special creaminess that will make the dish even more flavorful.

In a buttered ovenproof dish, we start layering alternating layers of cauliflower, the prepared sauce, and melted cheese or grated cheese. It is important to ensure that each layer is even to achieve a homogeneous and tasty dish. Finally, we cover everything with a layer of cauliflower, over which we pour a little sour cream for extra flavor.

We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the dish in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese on top becomes golden and appetizing. Once ready, we take the dish out of the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This dish is ideal for both a family meal and a special occasion. Enjoy your meal!
