Spinach, a versatile and nutrient-rich ingredient, can transform a simple dish into a flavorful delicacy. If you are using frozen spinach, it is very important to thaw it properly to preserve its taste and texture. Start by leaving it at room temperature for a few hours or, if you need a quicker solution, you can rinse it under warm water.

To prepare this delicious dish, take a large skillet and place it over medium heat. Add a few tablespoons of olive oil, preferably extra virgin, to enhance the flavor. If you choose to use garlic, peel a few cloves and chop them finely or crush them lightly. The oil will heat up while the garlic releases its aroma, and the smell will become irresistible. Add the thawed spinach to the skillet and mix well to coat it evenly with the oil.

Let the spinach wilt for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Its vibrant color will intensify, and the texture will become delicate. Once the spinach has reached a pleasant consistency, add the chickpeas. You can use canned chickpeas, well-drained and rinsed, or previously boiled chickpeas. Mix everything carefully so that the ingredients combine harmoniously.

After about 2 minutes of stirring, it is time to add the chili pepper. This can be fresh, sliced into thin rounds, or dried, depending on your preferences. This ingredient will add a spicy note, but you can adjust the amount according to your spice tolerance. Continue to cook the dish for another minute, allowing the flavors to blend perfectly.

When the dish is ready, you can serve it as is or alongside a protein of your choice, such as chicken breast or fish. This spinach dish with chickpeas and chili is not only tasty but also healthy, being an excellent source of vitamins, proteins, and antioxidants. Its exotic taste and pleasant texture will surely make you want to include it in your menu again!
