Coffee Jelly
To prepare a refined and delicious dessert, we start by mixing the gelatin with the four teaspoons of cold water. It is essential to let the gelatin hydrate for a few minutes until it becomes soft and fluffy. This step is crucial, as the gelatin will provide our dessert with a firm and fine texture.
In the meantime, we take a medium pot and add freshly brewed coffee along with the sugar. The coffee should be warm to help dissolve the sugar and the gelatin. We mix well, ensuring that the sugar dissolves completely. Over low heat, we add the hydrated gelatin, stirring continuously. It is important not to let the mixture boil, as excessive heat can destroy the properties of the gelatin. We stay by the pot and continue to stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture becomes homogeneous.
Once we have achieved a uniform mixture, we take the pot off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. The ideal moment is to pour it into four small cups or glasses, preferably made of glass, to highlight the beauty of the dessert. It is important to leave a little space at the top to possibly add a layer of whipped cream or another topping. Once the mixture is evenly distributed, we place the cups in the refrigerator, where they will sit for about 4 hours or until they are completely set.
When the dessert is ready, it can be served with or without whipped cream, depending on everyone’s preferences. If we choose to add whipped cream, it will bring a pleasant contrast of textures and a creamy taste, balancing the bitterness of the coffee. We can also decorate with roasted coffee beans or grated chocolate for a more sophisticated look. This dessert is ideal to be enjoyed after a special dinner or simply as a little indulgence during the day. The flavors combine perfectly, and each spoonful will bring a touch of pleasure. Enjoy your meal!
