Start your morning with a delicious and comforting breakfast that will turn any ordinary day into a special moment. This simple recipe for toasted bread with caramelized pears is not only quick but also full of flavors and textures. Here’s how to prepare it perfectly!

Ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread (preferably homemade or ciabatta)
- 4 ripe but firm pears (Williams or Bosc varieties are ideal)
- 100 g butter
- 4 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 100 g brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- Vanilla extract (optional)

Preparation:

1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by cutting the bread into slices about 2 cm thick. Remove any hard edges, if necessary, to achieve a finer texture. These details can make a difference in the final consistency of the dish.

2. Caramelizing the pears: In a large skillet, melt 50 g of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced pears and sprinkle the brown sugar over them. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become golden and caramelized. Add cinnamon and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors. If you want a more complex taste, you can add a few drops of vanilla extract.

3. Preparing the egg mixture: In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, a pinch of salt, and, if desired, vanilla extract. The mixture should be smooth and have an even color.

4. Assembling the dish: Grease a baking dish with the remaining butter. Arrange the slices of bread evenly on the bottom of the dish, completely covering the surface. If you want a crunchier texture, you can toast the bread slices on each side before placing them in the dish. After laying the bread, pour the egg mixture over it, ensuring that all the slices are well soaked.

5. Adding the caramelized pears: Evenly distribute the caramelized pears over the slices of bread. They will add a delicious contrast between the sweetness of the caramel and the soft texture of the bread.

6. Baking: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake the dish for 20 minutes or until the top becomes golden and fluffy. You will smell the wonderful aroma of cinnamon and caramelized pears spreading throughout the kitchen.

7. Serving: Let the dish cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, sprinkled with a little powdered sugar or whipped cream for extra flavor. Vanilla ice cream or a caramel sauce can turn this quick breakfast into an unforgettable dessert!

Possible variations:
- Substitute pears with apples or peaches, depending on the season.
- Add chopped nuts or almonds for extra crunch.
- Experiment with different types of bread, such as brioche or whole grain, for a healthier option.

This quick breakfast recipe is not only simple but also extremely versatile, allowing you to adapt it to your tastes. Enjoy every bite and turn your mornings into a celebration of flavor!

Ingredients: older bread (mine is darker), ham, cheese (drier on the edges), vegetables (I added peppers), liquid butter, eggs (yolks, egg whites left from who knows what), pepper, salt, milk.
