To prepare a delicious pear cake, we will start by gathering all the necessary ingredients: sugar, eggs, milk, oil, flour, baking powder, and of course, the pears. It is important to ensure that all ingredients are at room temperature, which will help achieve a finer and fluffier texture for the cake.

We will begin by mixing the sugar with the eggs. Using a mixer or a whisk, we will beat the two ingredients together until we obtain a light and fluffy foam, pale yellow in color. This is the aerated base of our cake. We continue by adding the milk and oil, carefully mixing to integrate these ingredients into the egg and sugar mixture, ensuring everything is well homogenized.

In another bowl, we sift the flour together with the baking powder, which can be vanilla-flavored to add an extra touch of flavor. Once the dry ingredients are ready, we will gradually add them to the wet mixture, pouring them in like rain. It is essential to mix gently, using a whisk or a wooden spoon, until there are no lumps left, and the batter becomes smooth and velvety.

After the batter is ready, we turn our attention to the baking pan. We grease it with a little oil or butter and sprinkle it with flour, or alternatively, we can use parchment paper that has been dampened and well wrung out. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan and will help us remove it more easily after baking.

Now, let’s take care of the pears. After washing them well, we cut them in half vertically and remove the seeds. Then, we can slice them thinly or fan them out, being careful that the slices are not too thin, as pears are delicate. If you are using a variety of pears with thicker skin, it is recommended to peel them to avoid an unpleasant texture after baking.

Once we have arranged the pears in the batter in the pan, we will place everything in the preheated oven at 190°C. Baking will take about 35-40 minutes, but it is important to test with a toothpick. It should be inserted into the batter, being careful not to touch the fruit, and if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. We let it cool slightly before slicing and enjoying, savoring its inviting aroma and fluffy texture. This pear cake will surely become a favorite among loved ones!
