Preparation of the base: We start by preparing the base, an essential moment for the success of the cake. In a large bowl, we gather all the necessary ingredients: flour, sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and baking powder. Using a mixer, we mix the ingredients well at medium speed until we obtain a smooth and creamy paste. It is important that all ingredients are at room temperature for better integration. Once the mixture is uniform, we grease a baking tray with butter and dust it with flour to prevent sticking. We pour half of the base mixture into the tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 25-30 minutes, or until the base passes the toothpick test. We proceed in the same way with the second base, allowing them to cool completely on a rack.

In parallel, we take care of the syrup. In a medium saucepan, we combine water, sugar, and vanilla essence, bringing the mixture to a boil. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, we let the syrup simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, then allow it to cool. This syrup will provide moisture and flavor to the bases, being a key element of the recipe.

Preparation of the cream: The cream is the soul of this cake, so we must pay special attention to it. In a bowl, we add the soft margarine and beat it well with a mixer until fluffy. Then, we take care of the bananas. They are mashed with a fork until we obtain a fine paste, and then we mix them for a few seconds for a more uniform texture. We integrate the mashed banana into the margarine cream, adding powdered sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice. We mix everything very well until homogeneous, and the cream is now ready.

Assembling the cake: We take the first base, generously soak it with the cooled syrup, ensuring it is well soaked. We then place half of the prepared cream and spread it evenly. We carefully place the second base, which we also soak in syrup, and add the rest of the cream on top. To beautify the cake, we can sprinkle coconut flakes or grated chocolate, according to preference. We leave the cake in the refrigerator for a few hours for the cream to set and the flavors to blend.
