Inspired by a friend's recipe, this version adds a touch of creativity and a delicious white chocolate glaze. I invite you to discover this simple yet impressive recipe that will fill your home with aromas and joy!
Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 70 g starch
- 1 pack (approximately 200 g) of butter at room temperature
- 2 whole eggs
- 150 g sugar
- 4 tablespoons of good quality cocoa
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for decoration)
- 200 g white chocolate
- 4 tablespoons liquid cream
- A few chocolate balls for decoration (optional)
Preparation
1. Mixing dry ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the flour, starch, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. This mixture will give the cookies a light texture and an intense chocolate flavor. Use a spatula or whisk to incorporate them well.
2. Butter cream
In another bowl, beat the soft butter with the sugar (150 g) until it becomes a fluffy and light-colored cream. This step is essential for achieving a light and tasty dough. Make sure the butter is at room temperature for better incorporation.
3. Adding eggs
Add the two eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. This will help emulsify the butter with the eggs, creating a rich base for the dough.
4. Combining ingredients
Add the mixture of dry ingredients to the butter and egg cream, mixing gently until everything is well incorporated. You will obtain a soft and slightly sticky dough.
5. Chilling the dough
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. This step is important as it helps firm up the dough, making it easier to shape.
6. Forming the buttons
After two hours, take the dough out of the refrigerator. Using your hands, form balls the size of a walnut and roll them in the granulated sugar. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between them (approximately 5 cm), as they will spread while baking.
7. Creating indentations
Make an indentation in the center of each ball with your finger, where the glaze will be placed.
8. Baking
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the buttons for 15 minutes or until they become firm to the touch. Let them cool on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely.
9. Preparing the chocolate glaze
In a small bowl, break the white chocolate into pieces and add the liquid cream. Place the bowl over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring constantly until the chocolate melts and becomes smooth.
10. Decorating
Fill the indentations made in the buttons with the white chocolate glaze. You can add a few chocolate balls on top for a more festive look.

We mix all the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cocoa, and salt. Separately, we beat the butter that has been kept at room temperature very well, add the 150 g of sugar, and continue to mix well. When the butter and sugar have become frothy, we add the two eggs one at a time. We mix the butter cream with the dry ingredients mixture. The resulting dough is wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in the refrigerator for about two hours. After two hours have passed, we take the dough out of the refrigerator and form it into appropriately sized balls, not too big, which we dip in granulated sugar and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them. In the middle of each ball, we press with our finger to create a dent. We bake the buttons at a moderate temperature, about 180 degrees C, for 15 minutes. We let the buttons cool. Meanwhile, we prepare the chocolate glaze. In a bowl, we break the white chocolate, add the 4 tablespoons of liquid cream, and melt it in a double boiler. With this glaze, we fill the dents formed in each ball. On top of the glaze, we will place two or four small chocolate balls. Enjoy your meal! PS Thank you, Dia, for the inspiration; they were very tasty. >:D
Ingredients: 300 g flour, 70 g starch, 1 pack of butter, 2 whole eggs (I thought it wouldn't hurt if I didn't add 3 yolks), 4 tablespoons cocoa, 150 g sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (I didn't have brown sugar), 200 g white chocolate, 4 tablespoons liquid cream, a few chocolate balls for the button holes.
