Pasta with Nuts

Ingredients: 500 g thin macaroni or wide noodles, 150-200 g ground walnuts, 70-100 g butter, 100-125 g sugar (powdered or granulated, according to preference), powdered vanilla to taste, a pinch of salt

To prepare a delicious dish with pasta and nuts, we start by putting a large pot of water on the heat with a teaspoon of salt. It is important for the salt to help flavor the pasta during boiling. When the water reaches boiling point, we add the pasta broken in half. This trick not only helps them cook evenly but also adds a rustic look to the dish. We let the pasta boil according to the package instructions, usually between 8 and 12 minutes, until they become al dente, meaning they should be slightly firm to the bite.

Once the pasta is ready, we drain it well using a colander, then rinse it under a stream of cold water to stop the cooking process and maintain optimal texture. We let the pasta drain well in the colander while we take care of the next step: melting the butter. In the same pot where we boiled the pasta, we put a few cubes of butter and let them melt over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

Once the butter is completely melted, we add the cooked pasta to the pot and toss it gently, mixing to coat it evenly with butter. This will give a rich and creamy flavor to the dish, making it even more appetizing. After the pasta has been well mixed with the butter, we transfer it to a bowl and cover it with a lid or a clean towel to keep it warm until serving.

In the meantime, we prepare the nut filling. In a smaller bowl, we add the ground nuts, which can be either regular walnuts, pecans, or almonds, depending on personal preferences. These need to be mixed with powdered vanilla and sugar, which will add a pleasant aroma and subtle sweetness. The nut mixture will become a crunchy and flavorful topping for the pasta.

For serving, we take plates and put a generous layer of pasta, then cover them with the nut mixture. It is important to gently mix to evenly distribute the topping over the pasta. This dish can be served warm, being ideal for both a light lunch and as a quick dessert or snack for moments when we crave something tasty.

The final result will be a delicious combination where the soft texture of the pasta meets the crunchiness of the nuts, and the vanilla aroma makes each bite a true pleasure. This simple and versatile recipe is perfect for any occasion, bringing a touch of flavor to your meals.
