Discover the magic of Christmas with a simple recipe for fragrant muffins, perfect to enjoy with loved ones. These Christmas muffins are fluffy, filled with chocolate and raisins, and will fill your home with an irresistible aroma. Here’s how to achieve the perfect result!
Ingredients:
- 250 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 1 packet of baking powder (about 10 g)
- 100 g dark or milk chocolate, chopped into small pieces
- 100 g raisins
- 1 egg
- 200 ml milk
- 80 g butter, melted and cooled
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional, but recommended for a deeper flavor)
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Start by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F). This is an essential step to ensure your muffins bake evenly and become fluffy.
Step 2: Prepare the dry ingredients
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. These ingredients are the base of your recipe. Add the chopped chocolate and raisins, mixing well to distribute them evenly in the mixture.
Step 3: Prepare the wet ingredients
In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and melted butter (make sure it is at room temperature, not hot, to avoid cooking the egg). If using vanilla essence, add it now. Mix well until you achieve a smooth composition.
Step 4: Combine the ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or a wooden spoon to gently mix until the ingredients combine. Do not overmix; a few lumps of flour are normal and will disappear during baking.
Step 5: Fill the muffin tins
Prepare a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it with a little butter. Use a spoon or an ice cream scoop to fill the cups with batter, leaving a few centimeters free for the muffins to rise.
Step 6: Baking
Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the muffins for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden and a tester inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
Step 7: Cooling and serving
Let the muffins cool in the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely. These muffins are delicious both warm and at room temperature.
Serving suggestion: You can sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top of the cooled muffins or serve them alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a festive and indulgent dessert.
Possible variations: Instead of raisins, you can add chopped nuts or hazelnuts for extra texture. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate, such as white or orange-flavored chocolate, to give an interesting twist to the recipe.
These Christmas muffins are not just a simple recipe, but also a wonderful way to bring the holiday spirit into every bite. Enjoy them and cherish the moments spent with your loved ones!
