Chocolate Tart
Ingredients: Base: 250g flour, 125g butter, 100g sugar, 2 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon baking powder, vanilla and salt. For the filling: 100g butter, 200g chocolate, 120g sugar, 25g flour, 2 eggs, 25g cocoa, rum essence (depending on the flour, I added a little warm milk).
To create a particularly delicious dessert, we start by preparing the delightful base of this dish. In a large bowl, mix all the necessary ingredients, ensuring that each component is well incorporated. It is important to focus on the texture, so the mixture is homogeneous and free of lumps. Once we have achieved a uniform composition, we cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes. This step is essential as it allows the ingredients to combine perfectly, making the dough easier to handle.
In the meantime, we dedicate ourselves to the filling. In a saucepan over low heat, we melt the chocolate, making sure to stir constantly to avoid burning. Once the chocolate is completely melted, we let it cool to room temperature. This is important to avoid cooking the eggs when we add them. In a separate bowl, we beat the eggs together with the sugar until the mixture becomes frothy and light in color. This step will add an airy texture to our filling.
After the chocolate has cooled, we carefully add it to the egg and sugar mixture, continuously mixing to achieve a homogeneous composition. Then, we sift the flour together with the cocoa powder, ensuring there are no lumps, and add them to the chocolate mixture. Finally, we incorporate the softened butter and the vanilla essence, which will add an irresistible aroma to the filling.
Now that we have both the base and the filling ready, we move on to assembling. On a floured work surface, we roll out a sheet of the base dough, being careful not to make it too thin. We place the sheet of dough in the prepared baking tray, lined with parchment paper, ensuring that the edges are covered. We pour the chocolate filling over the base dough, distributing it evenly.
To add a nice touch, we can create some lines of dough on top of the filling, forming a cross or grid pattern. This detail will not only enhance the final appearance of the dessert but will also add a crunchy texture.
Preheat the oven to a moderate temperature and place the tray inside to bake. The baking time varies but is usually between 25 and 35 minutes, or until the surface is firm to the touch. After baking, let the dessert cool before cutting and serving, allowing the flavors to stabilize. Enjoy this delicacy alongside a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
